What did you do to or with your CJ today?
What happened ? Junior looks pretty clean in that picture

Lmao he was not, I had mud in his hair arms back of his neck all over his clothes, I decided to stop and give the winch a try instead of filling the Jeep completely full of mud

You’re going to need a bearing clamp in the snap ring grooves with strong back and threaded studs. Check out Gearbox Videos on YouTube Paul does a great rebuild on the T-176 .

I struggled for another hour today then gave up and took it to a Jeep shop relatively nearby to have them do it. Instead I replaced my clutch plates and got it cleaned up to reinstall the tranny when I get it back.

Removed my Transfer Case from the Scrambler. So it will be ready to yank the motor out. Decent weather so I had no excuse. Now to take the head off of the motor being swapped in.

Always interesting when you are under the Jeep and find little bits. I wonder if the needle bearing is from an old u-joint or one currently on the Jeep. Hmmmmm

Finally got around to taking the garage back over so I can fit my 76 back in. This is after repairing the rear end of my frame where the bottom of the frame peeled away at the spring mount. Welded in a new rear crossmember from MORE instead of the PO's craptastic angle iron. Also got working on the 351w again. Haven't been on in a while so I figured I'd post everything up!1a1b7e706b0b05815429880766ae2c69.jpg57e7ba9da14d03127779af0ae49b6c06.jpg475b03082c61cf883311014b2a6128e1.jpgada02a02c137efa1dd9e6c51bc480fa2.jpgea75e315f1ebf498e26acef0e86329f4.jpg

Replaced all the bushings in the stabilizer bar. Ten bushing in all, bushings for the connecting links are two piece, Used prothane bushings so they should last a long time.
Pretty easy job, of course there are always a couple of bolts that are either rusted or hard to get a wrench on.
Took it for a little test drive and it drove well.
Next on the docket will be to replace the spring bushings.

Read an article a out it. The write up had a couple things inaccurate, but whatever. This is in a magazine local to my town. The extra photos were a couple of pics the photographer sent me that did not make the article.

VERY COOL, Sir!!!!

Sent from just this side of consciousness- Time to hit the rack.

Well, I feel like an idiot! After taking my steering stabilizer off and replacing the bushings yesterday I got to looking at it today and it just didn't look "right".
I searched my FSM and Haynes book and did a lot of searching on line for a good pic of one installed on a Jeep. Both of my manuals only showed the stabilizer bar by itself and I never could find a good pic on line of one.
So.............I pulled the Jeep in the basement, took it back off and flipped it over. It went on pretty easy but after I got it all bolted up I noticed it was rubbing the tie rod. That can't be right, so..............I took it off again and reinstalled it like I had it to begin with.
I'm getting pretty good at it, only took about an hour to change it the last time. Practice makes perfect!!!!!
Anyway, I feel confident it is on correctly. [this time] I should of taken a pic or paid closer attention while taking it off the first time.
On another note, UPS delivered my Smittybilt security console today. I ordered one over a week ago and found out it was back ordered and wouldn't ship out till the end of the month. After a little more searching I found the same one from another vendor that was in stock and $20 cheaper. It arrived in two days!!
Took me about an hour to get it installed, and I am very pleased with the quality and how it looks.
