Installed my battery kill switch. Only took about an hour and I was able to take advantage of one of tje first warm days this year. 32da67b68fbc5de3fae3a3c9dd580e03.jpg3469c5ad280830d6aa23426e8f864e68.jpg

Finally got moving on my project lately. Got my MORE HD steering box bracket installed a little while back and completed my HD tie rod and drag link with flip to the top and also got the new Borgeson steering shaft installed. Couple of pictures. The one thing I discovered with the tie rod flip to the top is my sway bar links are a little short so I need to get some longer links. I also removed my steering damper that came with mine new. Just figured I really don't need it.image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Before you go ordering new sway bar links, the tie rod flip doesn't change the distance from the frame to the axle. If you change something that would change that distance , then new links are in order.
I had to lengthen mine when I did 2 1/2" lift. Wanting to get the right length, and being cheap, I cut the links in half, got some tubing with the ID of the rod and when I adjusted the sway bar to the position that looked correct, welded the tube to the rods. As you don't have the engine installed, that may be why the links seem to be a tad short. The weight of the engine will change the distance of the frame to axle. Might want to get the engine in before you decide on new links.

Belizean - You could always get about 500 pounds of neighborhood kids to sit on the frame and take some measurements. :D

I am stashing the new stuff I have been buying on a common shelf in my garage, so I don't lose 'em. Yeah our garage is in chaos because I have too much stuff, too many projects. Last three weeks since my daily driver died, I got permission from my sweet wife to get the parts I need to make a running vehicle from my 7-year 1984 CJ7 project. Really mandatory stuff has arrived via USPS/UPS/DHL/and FedEx like the Edelbrock 1406 from a guy in Soldotna, Edelbrock RPM Air gap 7531 intake manifold, JEGS-supplied AMC HEI distributor for my AMC 343, Fuel line from Morris 4x4, Skyjacker Scout II Dana 44 brake lines for 6-inch lift SOA, etc. Once the garage is cleared, gonna hire a flat deck wrecker to spin it 180-degrees and set it into the garage bay. Let the fun begin :) IMG_9978.JPGHNGA5419.JPG

I have the 2 1/2" lift already it's the tie rod just barely hitting the sway bar when the wheel is cut all the way over left or right. Right where the sway bar connects to the link at the top side. If I had a welder I might go that route.

Let's see... I pulled the tank, changed out the draw straw from a modified one with fuel pump to stock and returned the frame rail pump back to the system. Also replaced the rollover valve grommets and tested the vapor recovery system. Turns out that the little o-ring in that smog thing in the left fender was bad, so I tossed a new one in and vacuum checked it to ensure it held vacuum. (held 5 psi of vacuum for more than 2 minutes without bleed.) The CA smog check pressurizes the tank to 1 lb and it can't lose more than .5 in a minute. Looks like I have that part solved, but I have no way to check the tank itself.

Also double checked the fuel pressure to the TBI. Just under 12 psi.

Then I took it for a nice long ride. 75 and sunny here today.

I walked out into the garage to look at it. Decided to charge the battery; it's been a while. Turned around and walked back into the house.

this was Sunday but i led a group consisting of 70 Jeep's on a trail ride through the snow and rain in the mountains of northern Frederick MD.34cd8e0873d2b4dbfc145e30032b4991.jpg7558bff8a9693aa39de709696d5adf41.jpg63f2cc4b09f8c19c25449bef847280d0.jpgf89f0c8cff9de9459c664037cf894a69.jpg29ac56eb57e6fbe79a8c56e5006f199c.jpg6e24dc1a58dbc7dd7f6104131612c091.jpgab1e7b7c72765b1be59d72ea11fb3617.jpg6ceea85c1b036c5d4adf554a3aa6c803.jpge77d2b30fd70053afd3dbad6efc1b16e.jpg

Took the tires off and cleaned up the wheels and hit them with a coat of Majic implement gloss white. I have some spots to touch up then add a pinstripe.

I’ll probably use these with my 33s for Moab and Colorado this season. The ones I have now with my 31s I’ll touch up and save for later when I sell the 31s.

Cleaned up the garage bay which has been trashed all winter, found a safe spot for my 343 on the engine stand, located and reorganized all my tools, spun the engine hoist around 180-degrees to face the CJ when I set it into the garage with the help of a wrecker. Bought a new 38/48 Optima Yellow top after comparing prices with the Odyssey I wanted. ~$200 less. ($279 vs $479). Will have to pick it up Monday from Batteries Plus. Found all the parts I've been accumulating from JEGS and other suppliers, organized them on shelves. Cleared the recent 20-inch deep snow from my 6-car wide driveway with a snow shovel. I'm whupped for today...

Got my BFG Mud Terrains mounted on my $40 set of wheels.

I’ll get the pinstripes done this time I hope .

Installed cheap Amazon LED tail lights to replace the crunched ones from clearing trails on our property.

Tested by commuting with it while my wife's DD is down and she borrows my truck. 30+ miles each way over a 3500ft mountain... has me thinking about a cam for the AMC 232 i6 .

Not today but recently was our chariot during NC snow storms

Manic, is this a club gathering? What club? Being in Balto I'm close enough to join in the fun!

yes and no. it was originally a small gathering of infidel jeepers but someone accidentally made it public and not private so it grew from several other FB groups. if you ever want a private trail ride hit me up ill show you around.
