Finally got my new motor mounts installed. Also had to replace a rear driveshaft u-joint that was less than 18 month's old. Even got my eife wrenching on the CJ with me

Detailing parts today. Got the engine filled and primed. If all goes well I'll be ready for initial start up and break in tomorrow afternoon

It’s a cross brace mounted between frame rails using one engine mount bolt on either side. IIRC, it was used in the V8 frames. I have one on mine, but is was originally an I6 and was probly added later.

A cross brace. Mine was a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l from tje factory and was on it when I got the jeep

So I stand corrected [emoji106] - must have been on all of em. Do they help keep the frame from widening in that area or is it just to make dropping the oil pan a lot more fun?
