What did you do to or with your CJ today?
Installed new Bestop Supertop:D

Installed the MORE steering box mount and Borgsen steering shaft....great steering now!

today i installed a power brake booster from a yj. i re used the original cj master cylinder from the manual brakes. i had to take the adjuster off of the end of the yj pushrod, and bore the holes out on the master cylinder, but all is well. power brakes for 20 bucks, cant beat that. oh yeah, i sanded the whole body down to prep for paint too.

Just keep in mind when you are on that steep hillside. With power brakes you only have one shot at applying brakes when your engine dies then they get real hard. I like my power brakes on my 81 CJ5 but, they can be a pain when I'm four wheeling. usually though, the adrenalin is flowing is such great amounts that I hardly notice the difference.

this morning i taped the jeep off so i can paint it. still not sure what color, but leaning towards orange

Gave it a bath.
Had to wash it off and spray down the inside! Anyone catch that dust storm that blew thru Phoenix? Yes, thats me! P.S. Check out PowerBlock TV and go to Gearhead of the Week YEAH BUDDY! Thats me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took off the ACME hard top and installed my new Best Top softie. Took me a bit longer than i was thinking but glad to get it done.

Thinking about selling the ACME as I really don't have a use for it. :dunno:

primer pictures arnt worth a damn. when my son gets back from vacation, we will put the final paint on the jeep. and ill post some pics, i promise

I bought a 48' Willys CJ2a & a 54' Willys CJ 3B today.
The 3B is really more of a "Parts" rig for the 2A.
The Menagerie continues to grow.
I guess I'll be burning the midnight oil in the barn for a while.

Having a pretty good weekend. removed old AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l head and replaced with 4.0.
Kind of a wake up call, I had to call my Daughter to help me lift the heads off and on, used to be a one man job, when the man was a bit younger.
have to assemble the rockers and set the cover and hoses this morning and then on to the MC2100. I may even hear it run today, should be impressive with the uncapped header it has on it right now.:D
I have been pondering the Teraflex LOW20 Transfer Case kit. this could be a very cost effective way to drop final drive with out loosing highway manners.

oh well lets see.. every day its something different!! today i just painted it black for the hell of it and so i can see the body lines better and see where the body damage was at. every day challenge tryin to fix the dents and dings and waitin to paint it and make it look good so i can go ruin it on the trails! :p

Went to change a bad u-joint in the rear, when I took the shaft out I found both joints were bad.:( Good thing I had an extra one in the tool box.:)It's back together now.
It's going to be humid and in the mid 90's this week, good weather to drive the heep to work. (the air in my work car doesn't work and only one window rolls down)

Got on the creeper and greased all the zurks, found the poly Transmission mount missing one bolt and the other a couple turns loose. Pays to get on your back now and then.:D

sprayed the color this morning. just went to untape it, and found a spot i missed. i had taped too far into the jamb. gotta mix a little more paint tomorrow. ugghhh:pissed:
