Thanks Zuba, finally doing what we all bought them for rather than wishing I was doing.

Jonboy, looks like you had a good time. Thanks for the pix. :chug:

got the rear bumper back on. started on the spare tire carrier, but it sticks out a little too far i think. i was thinking about taking up the space between the body and tire carrier with a pair of jerry cans. anyone run a set up like this?

I took off the dash tring to find a issue of fuses blowing and wholy S*** There's alot of wires hooked up to the speedo-gas-temp-4wd light-brakelight gauge. ALso my three way switch didn't work so I'm going to work on that. I was also going to replace the seal between the windshield frame and dash frame. Heads up if your windshield doesn't come down easy shot the hinges with 4dw. I did this and one started moving I little hard but not bad. Put windshield back up the hing on the pass side, broke must have bent and broke on the way back up. So with a little cussing I welded it back up. Stuipd I know so I order a new hinge and windshield frame mines all rusted out. Got parts ordered and will replace the frame and hinge this winter. Found out the radio is shorting out blowing fuses so unhooked radio till can get new one. Was a marine grade but I guess they can't take water running on them. Which is what I had and why i was going to replace seal. All well it all in working on old veichles and getting them back into shape. Have wiffy looking for three way heater switch at part store if she can't find will be looking on 4wd web site.

Where did you order the windshield?? let us know how the quality of material and construction are.

SKT, we damn near have the same CJ, lets see some pics. Thanks for the compliments on my CJ7 . It really is a fun family time wheeling with my stepsons and family. As wet as it is up here in th Pacific Northwest, it is a great place for wheeling along the thousands of miles of active and abandoned logging roads and trails.

Picked up two full sets of spare axle shafts for the front end :D

Also aquired a 1/4" thick plate steel flat crossmember for my next project...

Meh, unfortunatly mine has been re-sprayed.

I really CJ's with factory paint/decals.

Here is the most recent pic I have of mine:

...and to keep it on topic, today I replaced my fuel pump.

I took off the easy things, hood hinges, mirrors, roll bar among other things and blasted them clean today, ready for epoxy primer tomorrow. Whats next? fix the fiber glass top and doors for my CJ5 ...

Got new 32 inch BFG and bought a new rim to mount the spare on the spare tire bracket I mounted yesterday. (washed and waxed it as well....)

Today I used my CJ7 to tow my stepdaughter's 2 inoperable vehicles away from a storage unit so I can re-roof the leaky sucker.

Nice looking CJ there SKT. Do you take that Jeep back in the muddy, tight trails? It appears to be too nice to scratch.

SKT CJ7 Looks Great Just not an offroad jeep !
It looks like you have another project there.

I ordered the windshield frame from 4wd and luckly the glass is in prefect shape. And I'll let you know how well buildt it is. Also found out heater switch wasn't bad luckly the wife got wrong switch and i started looking at the switch and wires going to and from the fan motor. Found old power wire that hooks up to fan motor. Po must have forgot or couldn't find it and just hooked up a simple on/off switch under dash to get to work. If wifey wouldn't have got wrong switch would probbly still using smiple switch. Theres still a lot of work to do. How do you find out if your wiper motor is intermitten or not? I've been looking at scematic of electrical in chiltons and both Intermitten and reguler switch and motor have 4 wires connected to them but the colors on both don't match mine. Put in tach while had dash apart. And in the process of getting rest of dash lights running. Then the dash will be nice and light up at night!!!! Sorry for such a long post. Having fun working on the jeeppy as my kids call it!!!!

:chug:
Runs a ton better!

What's up...to all,
8\28\11
Today I pull motor\Transmission \transfer from framerails. If time allows I will also remove front and rear axle\spring assemblies as well as gas tank.
This will set up for me to start grinding on frame to remove 37 years of owner added bolts, clips, weld-slag, exhaust hangers, etc...I'm sure I have a good couple of weekends of frame work ahead of me.
