What did you do to or with your CJ today?
changed the milkshake in the Dana 30 . (ran through alot of water on the trails) The rear looked good but I'll get it next.

I replaced the starter on my CJ7 , perhaps the easiest one I have ever yanked and installed. I fabricated a 27-inch, 4-gauge exciter wire to it.

Also, I cut the :dung: out of my hands removing the old windshield hinges. WHY wouldn't AMC have tack welded those backing nuts? Found a little pitting cancer underneath those hinges, but nothing I couldn't grind out. POR 15 to cover tomorrow.

I have thought the same thing but I think that is where the adjustment for the frame is. And isn't POR 15 the best thing ever.

Oh yeah, the hinge adjustment, that is it! YES...POR 15 is a Godsend if you own these rust buckets!

Quick question, how does one a club member move up from "new jeeper" to just "jeeper," so on and so forth?

I, for one like the unattached hardware. Have you replaced the body mounts yet?? those rust together real well and no way to drill them out. I think it is a good idea to have as much hardware as possible that can be removed with a saw or chisel.

I believe the member status is related to the number of intelligent posts. Or you can always do like me and just go for volume over a long period of time.:D

Oh boy, I'm in trouble if I need intellectual posts to move up. Junior Jeeper it is then.

POR 15 today on the CJ behind windshield hinges and the cowl. Die rust!

spent the weekend tinkering with the Jeep. I rebuilt the driver’s side exhaust the way that I wanted it and moved the glass pack on the passenger side back behind the Transfer Case . It was rubbing a hole in the in the glass pack. Then I installed the servo for the front locker and wired it in. now I need to get the locker in a month or two. Also moved the fuel pump because it was too close to exhaust pipe.

Hey you have already moved from a new jeeper to a junior jeeper you are on your way up. :chug:

So whats the highest rank, and what does it pay:D

I think highest rank is you can choose your own title... Like: "Master at fishing from my Jeep" etc.

Axle swap

I started axle swapping to 1/2 tons. Getting it ready for a summer of mud.

Killed what was left of my 360...
Kids and I were ripping up some vacant land....running up the R's pretty hard... Had a blast..!

Engine bearings WERE a bit on the "loose" side BEFOREHAND.. It sounded like a diesel..

Now it sounds like a very noisy, broken diesel...

I had planned on building a 360 and doing a swap some weekend this summer / fall. Now Jeep is down till I actually build the other 360... :(

Hey at least it went out while you whir having fun.

@mtnwhlr True, had fun on its last romp!!

My sons and I did a bit of engine work a few months ago. Swapped out the worn out cam with one I had from a AMC 304 ... It was a good project for my kids to be involved in.

However, with all the metal in the engine from the worn out cam, the bearing are pretty bad.
When foot is off gas.. fine
When foot is in the gas.. fine
When foot is in the middle, creating neither torque nor drag, NOISY..

We were just commenting on the noise that afternoon.

After we had fun with it, I dropped them off at a youth group function for a couple hours. Drove it another 10 miles, and thats when the results of our "fun" became evident. When I picked them up, they immediately noticed the difference... We all realized it was OVER...:( ... but like you said, had fun doing it! I wasnt even pissed off..
