still jus looking at it ... started to take parts off to sell so if anyone needs stock parts (1974 CJ5 ) that are not gona be used in my rebuild like orininal seats, gas tank, soft doors i have some parts to barter off sell or trade for the crawler buggy project i have in mind jus shoot me a offer or let me kno what you need i might have it

Finished custom cage, replaced steering linkage and gear, fabricated a sun shade for the boy's in the back seat, and gave it a bth so it will look good for Panamint Valley Days this weekend.

Pulling axles offa AMC20 2-piece for Superiors arriving in 2 wks, I figured out how to (easily and quickly) cut off the inside bearing with a Dremel. I got PAX side brake backing plate off in a flash. Only hit one thumb splitting the race cut with a cold chisel.

I saved the other side for tomorrow when I will take pictures. It is a piece of cake!

Over the weekend installed new heater core new soft top changed all fluids re wired all the non working dash lights then took it out to get it a little dirty on a 4 hour trail ride.

Bring it on! I am cleaning backing plates and springs, clips in prep for reinstalling back drum brakes onto new Superior one-piece axles. Any advice welcomed!

Well i know who im going to be talking to when i put the power brakes on my CJ7 im looking forward to adapting the power steering that just looks line a pain in the butt.....

corey, I really took on a project with this one
The 67 came with 9 inch brakes all the way around, and a single stage master cylinder.
I decided to go with disc up front, 11 inch brakes in the rear and a 2 stage master cylinder with a adjustable proportioning valve for the rear.
I ran into every obstacle ther was, Actually putting the rear brakes on was easy, Just plug and play, I thought. I went to put on the front disc and ran into compatibility problems with my D27 axle, so I pulled a Dana 30 , Had it built with 4.88s and a detroit, plus a few other upgrades and popped it in. Well that ment I needed to fab some custom tie rod and drag link. I had called for a price and got sticker shock, I am going be upgrading teh steering so I did not want to pay for something I was not going run a full year, Next thing I know I am moding the steering knuckles to get the GM truck brakes to fix. Then I have to change the master cylinder and totally replumb the mistress. Ever notice where an early jeeps master cylinder is? yep in the frame under the tub. Cut chisle and cuss, I get the old one out and weld in a bracket for the new one, I then find out the old MC had the brake light switch in it so I had to get a inline Switch. 4 more trips to the parts house before I get all the fittings for the replumb correct and now it runs, stops and works great. Bottom line is 2 months after I started I finished What I thought would be a weekend project, Oh, I still need to have a front driveshaft made

Have you checked fuel pressure, timing, ect.

would you copy this and put it over in the thread I started about "things just got out of hand" this is perfect. Curtis's third law states "nothing is ever as easy as it first looks".

I went to the salvage yard and got a few much needed missing pieces for my CJ7 . Still have a huge shopping list so I am sure this is the start of a long process.....but I am loving every minute of it.

yep a long process, It never ends, that is why we love them so much, we can always look forward to a bit of wrenching.
My theory is a Jeep does not respect anyone who cannot work on them, so they have to test us from time to time.
