removed the unused EGR valve and machined a new cover plate and intalled it. Recieved new motor mounts and cowl seal. Body mounts and spring bushings back ordered till may. :(

got the jeep in the barn and dropped the winshield to change cowl seal and dash panel. Typical rust on bottom of windshield frame, more work to do.
Made a discovery when I pulled the dash pad, I realized it was recovered. It looks like blue demin, Levi (Edition) 's edition?

Had arranged to drive about an hour and a half to buy a propane fireplace/stove yesterday. Before we left I checked craigslist and WooHoo!--a guy had listed a CJ spare tire carrier with tire and rim for $30, and it was just a few miles from my stove destination! Now I just need the brackets.

Man, I hope the weather breaks soon. I've acquired a ton of parts and I need to get some of them bolted onto the Jeep. (It's a driveway Jeep--no garage.)

Rickster--Tryed the same thing yesterday for a few hours:confused: only to find out it was the wrong year seal .:censored:

cworld-Even with the correct seal this chore can be frustrating. I used a lot of Dawn-soapy water and glass cleaner. Also put the gasket/seal in a bucket with hot water to soften the seal up prior to installing on the windshield.

NOTHING :(walked out the back door this a.m. with coffee cup in hand headed to the shop. ANd I had a stream running out from under the well house door. Opened it and damn it's waterworld. Fast forward 8 hours, three trips to home depot, three trips to lowes, one to tractor supply, one to walmart and two to autozone. I HAVE WATER AGAIN. But Eugene sat in the shop looking pitiful. Hopefully I can get the windshield frame worked on tomorrow.

This has to be the only plus side I have found to now living with a municipal water supply. It tastes like :censored:; but I don't have to worry about the well messing up anymore!

Glad you got it all straightened out.:chug:

city water here isn't an option, nearist line is 1/4 mile away. I like my well, and the tank that blew out was 12 years old. Pass me a beer and let's kick back.

holy s***...if you got out of that, I'll believe anything you say about your lockers and winch:notworthy::notworthy:

got in a little deep did you? :D

Well I did it. I say I did it. And it friggin sucks. I'll pay someone to take off the other two.

Trying to take the "safer" route around the puddle, slipped right into it lol. My pop was in the XJ in front of me and took a video of me winching out. If I could figure out how to load it I'd be glad to share. I am now a firm believer in a good winch!

I've been following this too and the only thing with mine is that the actual bolts were frozen in. Everything else came out great.
