Only took 4 tries to up load this picture….. something not right here

Something not right about the pics not loading the first try, or something not right with bolts just kinda hangin out?? Tapatalk always requires multiple attempts to upload, and just not this site. As for the bolt..... maybe use a wrench? Just spitballing here....

While I’m at it I’ll throw some spit, bubble gum and bailing wire at it lol

I sent Tapatalk a nasty gram and I actually got a reply

I believe it to be a Tapatalk issue. The site is on all the latest software.

Yes it’s definitely a Tapatalk issue, it’s been going on for a year plus, Chris at Tapatalk said it’s a speed issue with the photo servers

BAM! I think if he’d blamed it on CJ he’d have gone and smacked him in the head.

TBI Chevy truck pump similar enough to YJ pump to work with YJ sender, I’m going to buy chevy truck fuel pump pig tail one of these days for now it’s zip tied in place

Small pin on pump is ground
Large pin on pump power
YJ fuel sender wire colors:
ORANGE pump power
BROWN fuel gauge
BLACK ground

Yep

Howell CJ6 cylinder TBI kit

New custom chip from Howell
Re man Chevy 350 fuel injectors
Chevy truck TBI fuel pump
Dodge Ramcharger TBI fuel filter
And some miscellaneous extended wiring
I had Wanted an in tank fuel pump years ago so I got a YJ tank otherwise you use Howell frame mount pump and filter

What a difference a day makes, stupid thing won’t run today, no check engine light, fuel pump blew the fuse, new pump from oriellys, pump works now and is quieter, I’m done with it today, looked on Howell and it looks like the computer is not happy being hooked up to the oil pressure gauge wire ( light goes out while cranking) I guess I will have to find it’s permanent ignition feed 12v source sooner than I thought, but how did it run yesterday????

Lol so this pump is supposed to be same application as old pump but this one was close enough to the YJ pump that I was able to use the pump mount bracket, 1990 Chevy 1 ton pump oriellys master pro #MPE-16007

When I installed my push button and remote start kit, it needed a way for the computer to "know" when the engine had successfully started. The instructions stated to use the oil pressure sensor going to the gauge. I tried that as well, but no go. It was too intermittent. Sometimes the computer knew the engine had started and sometimes not, causing to try to re-start even though it was already running. I then switched to the fuel pump power wire. The ECM turns the pump on for about 3 secs when you first turn on the ignition. But if the engine doesn't start, the ECM turns the pump back off. If the engine does start, then of course the ECM keeps the pump on. This has worked like a charm.

You can check the ignition switch for the wires you need also. You have main power in, accessory power out, and ignition out. The accessory power out is not hot during cranking. The main ignition out is. A fused tie-in to this should also work. On the large white plug on the ignition switch, the solid red wire is the battery power in. The striped red wire is the ignition out. This may have a plug for an optional tach. Connect to the switch side of the plug if present. The yellow wire is the accessory power out and feeds the volt gauge and is NOT hot during cranking. Then of course the light blue is the starter solenoid.

For the in-tank fuel pump, I used a Walbro GSS342-400-791. Small enough to fit into the existing CJ tank opening along with the float and all as well. Draws about 6 amps of current, so never a blown fuse with a 10A in the circuit.

Thank you TSB8C, mine used to have a tach from the factOry I will look and see if that connector is still there

We’re back… hehe, ran switched 12v straight to the battery to test if that’s the issue and she cranked with in 1 or 2 revolutions, it even started the tuning process and the rich smoke cleared,
Now on to dropping the body back down

I forgot that I installed the painful direct fit wire harness so no tach feed wire anymore, so I’m going to splice into the red/white wire coming of the ignition switch
