get some brakleen and go to town. double and triple check everything I wish I would have followed my instincts and NOT taken the word of the shop. I decided to go LS because of 360 part availability even after spend a F ton of money I'd still have a 40 plus year old motor. Breaking down in in S Texas or anywhere for that matter would mean a wait for parts. I'm talking even the simple stuff. After meeting with you, I suspect you are a diligent methodical detailed oriented dude. I'm sure you'll repair to the best of your ability. BTW, I've used a repair on two different occasions and had good luck.

Back in my 20s I would have pulled the motor bought an engine gasket kit and redone all the gaskets and repainted it just because the valve covers and oil pan were leaking, and I would probably have pulled the rod caps and main caps to see the bearings.......

But I’m older and slower so this time I did a visual inspection of the bottom end cleaned everything really well and buttoned her back up...... I am making 20 + psi at idle and am topping out at 60 psi on the highway so I’m pretty satisfied with my bearings for now

I have the other 360 that I want to slowly rebuild with forged pistons and hydraulic roller cam. For in the future

The shop that did the machine work on my engine said to use that same oil that you have on the fender. What weight are you using ?

I like how " Killer " gets to ride shotgun and stick his muzzle out the window. My dog loves to stick his head out into the wind and get the full force of it

Weld a stub onto the roll bar for it...... [emoji51]
