Alternator help plz)

65" CJ5 Dauntless Buick 225 V6 225
Was in process of upgrading few things to the jeep and noticed my alternator's not charging and my main battery are being drained "not charging"
Cant seems to find the part number on them atm( but i did search the online to see what amp are pulling and its ranging 35~ 55amp.
I am planning to pull more amp later on with adding more day~night lights, so planning to upgrade them with higher amp alternator.
question is should i buy the voltage regulator type attached internal or external...????
and what amp range should I look for...?
of course I need to find one with OEM fitment....

The best replacement will be a Delco 10SI or 12SI. You may have to tweak the spacing on the bracket to get the belt aligned properly, but basically a bolt-on. Available at every parts store and relatively cheap. If this is on something with a winch or that may have a winch in the future, I would go for at least the 93 amp version of the 12SI. You can reuse your 2 wires for excitation and the charge (idiot) light but you should match the "bat" alternator to battery lead with wire gauge to match the alternator output-usually in the 4 to 6 gauge range.

Yes~ I went with 12SI rated 102 however its ranged between 95~92
Which is not bad for the price Ive paid with all necessary parts included $107
I do have a winch setup along with dual battery with isolator...
also planning to put some Led or Hid lights
