Good eyes guys. That was indeed an AMC Eagle cruising next to me when I took the pic. Jeepster next to the 7. AMC is well represented in the Rockies.

I watched an AMC Eagle go head to head with a full size pickup. it was raining and the Eagle pulled out into the path of the pickup - hit nearly head on at a combined speed of about 40mph..... both suffered a fair amount of damage, but I was impressed with the Eagle - pickup had as much damage as the Eagle...... no one was hurt.

I am not sure where this old 7 has spent it's life, by the leprosy of the body that is visible, I would bet on someplace with a salt application program.

It may not be a CJ but where would we be today without it. I had forgotten how small these were.

The grill, hood, windshield, tub are not MB
Can't see enough of the frame to ID
Typically you don't find draw bars on the rear of a MB frame only on CJ's.

Saw a nice '78 five for sale here in town today. Supposedly originally a Levi (Edition) 's edition. Has the Ford 302 swap, auto tranny, brand new Besttop/doors, new paint, full cage, new aftermarket gauges, Ramsey winch, good chrome rims and nice set of BFG ATs. All the tough stuff is done. Seller is one of the local Napa parts counter guys with a great reputation. Asking 8k.
If anyone's interested, I have pics and would be happy to share them as well as relay any additional info.

WOW - I actually have an opportunity to add something to add to the thread..... headed down Rte. 24 on the way home from work and spotted this one on up past my turn - had to detour to get it. Had a good bit of rust but most didn't show in the pics.
Just me, but I think it needs flares.....
