It looks like it has been updated, may have to spend some time there myself.:D

Hello,
I'm brand new to the Jeep forum. Thanks for having me. I have recently purchased a '76 CJ5 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l I6 with the old 3 speed tranny.(I assume T-150 ). Does the T-18 have the same splines and bolt pattern to connect to the I6 and Transfer Case ?
Thanks!!

I, too, have joined the Jeepers with the recent "adoption" of a 76 CJ5 I6 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l 3 speed!
So, hopefully we'll be friends.
I have a rattle noise coming from my T-150 's 3rd gear when I let off the gas and the momentum of the jeep catches up to the tranny/engine speed. I've tried to duplicate the rattle in the other two gears and it's only 3rd. So it's not a U-joint or throw out bearing.
It sounds like a tuning fork getting pinged around. So..... Maybe a shift fork?
Thanks for any ideas and thoughts.

You would need a T-18 that bolts to a Dana 20 . The rear output bearing retainer has the "texas" pattern to fit your Transfer Case .

The bellhousing is different I think. The splines are no big deal as can but the proper clutch plate to match the splines. The Jeep versions are 1-1/8" and the Ford T-18 's have a 1-1/16". You also need a special pilot bushing to fit the smaller and shorter nose of the Ford T-18 input shaft. This is assuming you will be using a Ford T-18 as opposed to a tough to find Jeep T-18 .

Also remember the T-18 is longer which changes your tcase shift linkage.
