Inside TUB...Cleanup & Rhine Lining/Help

Inside TUB...Cleanup & Rhine Lining/Help
I didnt take mine down to bare metal. Just removed all of the lose stuff and filled in screw holes from po

Well hopefully I won't take it down to metal but may not have a choice. I'm going to pick up the degreaser and scrub brush tomorrow along with some sandpaper what grit would you say?

I wire brushed mine. Only used sandpaper on the filled holes. If I remember right the rougher the finish the better the monstaliner will stick. After 2 or 3 cleanings I wiped the whole tub down with acatone.

Yea I just don't want to prime it if I don't have to....I'm afraid if I use a sander or wire brush it might take the paint right off if there is any lol.

My tub was in rellay good shape. I wire brushed just enough to remove anything that was loose and rough it up.

My po stored the cj for the past 25 years in a garage. Never drove it in the winter. The whole cj is in that kind of condition. I think you will be suprised how good yours will turn out. Attention to detail and hardwork will end in a good result.

My wife bought me my CJ that and well I put a little work in there to get it but I don't know its history at all I think it came from OHIO though lol

I hope so to be honest ive had hell with the last two projects on her I rewired her and put a 2 1/2" suspension lift on her with a 1/2" shackle lift. I am going to do this lining re-do all the brakes and rear drive shaft to a double cardan shaft. I've been looking everywhere for a brake kit that has everything but can't find one. The drive shaft is just to much money right now and the steering I am still piecing everything I need to get for it.

I will take lots of pics be prepared though I tend to ask TONS of questions lol

Just the black I like yellow and black lol may be plain but oh well. Not sure when I will be able to put it on because of all the storms going around but hopefully soon.

More Pictures pressure washed the inside and it works GREAT on old lining pulled it right up on the 0" a little bit to go... probably going to pressure wash a little more then go over it with some 180 grit sandpaper and scotch pad her lol :D lots to do tomorrow.

Do y'all think I should go ahead and remove my dash?

Also does any of this stuff under the shifters look bad? what should I do with them...Like do I need to replace anything there?

Thx :chug:

Sure will I'm thinking I will try to get it done this Saturday if the rain will stop. lol

I wouldn't lament the rain too bad, it might turn off like a few years back! We are still cutting down dead and dying trees...

Lol, :D Your only 3 hours away and y'all have not received any of this? Thats all it's been doing over here for the past week a long with the 5 days of summer 1 day of winter kind of seasons......

I'm really dreading doing this job, I dread almost anything I do to this jeep lol. The longer I wait the more I worry i'm not going to do something right. Like my the suspension lift for instance I wish I would have painted the axles and the bottom of my jeep with all that out from under there lol.

Anyways what do you think about my dash you think I should remove it when doing the job I really don't thnk I need to go that far up I need opinions lol unless the rain keeps coming (oh wait there goes the dish) :chug: more storms in North TX i'm sure IOPORT knows what i'm talking about.
