Bass, I was in my parts loft looking for a distributor vacuum advance when I came across these . Wish I had of looked before sending out your package.
Thanks Posi! The parts just came about an hour ago. I really like the design of the spacer you suggested. It appears to allow air to flow under the spacer which facilitates exactly what I am trying to achieve, cooler carburetor. I got the 3/8" spacer that Hedge talked about, and the fit looks good. I soda blasted the outside of the carb the other day, and it looks great! I will be rebuilding it soon.

A gentle form of sand blasting where they us baking soda as the blasting media. Many forms of media are used today. Corn cob (ground up of course), walnut shell, glass beads, sand of course, soda and even dry ice. All have their specialty area. Most for removing paint from delicate surfaces like carbon fiber, copper, aluminum......

It's great for making nasty oxidized aluminum rims appear almost chrome. BUT YOU MUST COAT / PROTECT THEM from that point forward.

What Hedge and 007 said. Beats trying to clean delicate metals with a bronze wire brush or toothbrush.

I don't know if you are still looking for a carb but I used one of these on my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with great results. I liked it so much that I found another one at a swap meet for $35 for my Scrambler. It was a stock replacement Holley with the same bolt pattern and 350 cfm that was used on Chrysler cars and some trucks.

Thanks Kane. Already have a 2100 and the kit to rebuild it. Good to know for future reference though.

I finished rebuilding the 2100, and was preparing to install it when I noticed something that made me stop. I purchased a Crown insulator to replace the worn out phenolic one. When I put the thick gasket on between the carb and the insulator, there is about .030" to .040" give or take, of gap where the bolts go through. Since my last carb broke 2 of the bolt lobes due to the warped spacer, I am a bit apprehensive of torquing the carb down and having a repeat of what happened to the last carb. I have 3 of the thick gaskets, and they are 2 different thicknesses, but both of them have gaps when matted to the carb. What is everyone's experience with this situation? Take a look at the pictures. I tried to show the gap as best I could.

Very common issue with that series carb.
My bet-it's the spacer.
