I dont think that is the source of your problem..
I also have a couple of fittings screwed into each other, stepping down the threads...

But I have a mechanical oil pressure guage sender as the final fitting. I did away with the old guage years ago.

I'd take MN CJ7 's advice... He seems to know a thing or two..

Agreed, read post. My confusion is that all I see is mechanical senders that look like electrical senders. I have an unopened box of elect auto meter c2 gauge. Are you guys getting at running a line from that oil hole to the back of a gauge?

Thats how mine is set up. It is a true mechanical oil pressure guage with oil going right to the back of the guage. Some people prefer not to go that route, of bringing oil into the cab and dashboard. I didnt have a problem with it. Obviously you just need to make sure that oil line is safely out of the way of the exhaust manifold, etc.

So what is the diff between electric and anolog gauges. Autometer have both in c2 but neither accept an oil line, they require the appropriate sender. So they aren't mechanical?

Right all mechanical ones have a line to the gauge this is what I have and I like them much better then the electric ons.

You arent choosing between "analog" and "mechanical"..
