Build Thread Starting from the frame 1977 CJ5

Frame repair is done all patches are in and new body mounts and rear bumper welded in. Rear half painted with Eastwood Rust encapsulator plus done. Now on to the front half of the frame. Should be easier as there is nothing to repair just clean off and encapsulate.

If you get a chance, could you measure the center to center distance between the rear x-member body mount and the intermediate mount? I thought I had measured it before I cut the rear x-member off but if I did I have no idea what I did with it.

Tim I will measure it but I may not have the right measurements because one of the previous owners cut off the original rear x-member.

Depends, if the pump has a built-in sender or not. Either way you need something to provide feedback to the fuel gauge.

Here is the sending unit I bought and the fuel tank. Just wondering if I have the right tank for my Jeep and sending unit.

From the pix on the Pump Box, yes there is a Sending Unit Float.
Now, is it a "Low Pressure Pump" or a "High Pressure Pump" ?
Low psi for Carburetor
Hi psi for Fuel Injection

And if you are going to keep it a Carb Set up, you may also need a Fuel Filter with a Return Line.

I don't think that the original set up had a in tank pump.
You still have the mechanical fuel pump on the engine?
The in the tank pump would be a good upgrade if it matches your
Carb. Or if you plan on going to Fuel Injection. But that requires a ECM and other Electronics to work.
If you stay with a Carb,
and use this in tank pump,
Remove the old mechanical fuel pump and get a "Pump Blank" to cover the opening in the block.
They are available everywhere,
Even Fancy Aluminum ones.
