Got it fumed a bit - Coulda used a little more sanding, but I lost interest. Couple thousand miles of road dirt and you won’t know the difference.

The clips are nice, but that printed 401... wow!!!

LOL - only problem is, ya can’t fire it up. If it doesn’t blow up it’ll melt..... it’s just for lookin, it ain’t for runnin [emoji6]

Ya know - a 3D printed scale 401 would be cool......... [emoji848]

For the living room, or den ?

Got all the radiator / heater hoses hooked up tonight- the radiator hoses I had were in great shape - just cleaned em up and reinstalled em. The heater hoses were another story...... They were very hard so I bought new. The heater core to water pump hose was easy - bulk line trimmed to fit. The other two, not so much. The original water pump bypass hose was long gone, as was the heater core to intake port....... no problem - I gots extra bulk. So I trimmed one to length and stuck it on the rear of the intake to the core........ as I expected - it had a pretty severe kink in it.

I thought maybe it would open up with a little heat and time. On to the bypass hose. Same thing..... trimmed a piece of bulk to length, stuck it in place, and thought NOPE. That one definitely wasn't gonna work. Only option was to order a crappy Omix or Crown hose, then wait for it to come in. Just for fun, I checked my local Advance Auto (Napa was too far to drive before they closed) - and they had one in stock!! And it was a Dayco - Made HERE!! And it was 8 bucks!! So I grabbed one. Then got to talking to the counter dude, and asked if they carried the rear hose. Nope - said to cut bulk to fit. So I asked if I could look at the others. Found one (for 20 bucks, ouch - Probly for a friggin Bugatti ) that with a little trimming, fit perfect. Here are the two I got:

Front bypass hose

Looks MUCH better, and no kinks. I laid the Bugatti hose about where it needed to be, cut a little off both ends, shown by the red marks, and it fit like a glove.

.

Now it's all plumbed and still looks rather tidy....

Funny how sometimes the little things make the biggest difference:

Man that’s looking so good, both my heater hoses are on the front of the intake, I wonder if it matters

Well - my intake is an Edelbrock - and I’m 95% sure I hooked it back like it was. I know everything else I right, and the rearward connection was the only one not being used... I’ve probly just hooked a coolant line to a crankcase vent LOL

Ran across this pic - appears to support my choice of rearward port.....

Hmmm, thanks looks like I might need to revisit my choice of coolant passages........

Looking very nice accept for the under side of the hood. I think it could use some paint:)

Whadya mean? The Black didn’t cover like I wanted it too, but doesn’t look that bad, does it???

LOL - Actually, I’m thinkin about adding a couple mounting pads to the underside - once I work that out it’ll get the same treatment as the firewall.

Now that I got the Jeep sitting nose out, I can get to the Passenger side much easier. Got the lower door hinge in place tonight, along with the latch pin, and then hung the door to check for consistent door gaps- or at least as consistent as possible. Also dug out a set of "Jeep" stickers I had made a couple years ago - stuck the passenger side on cause I couldn't stand it any more - had to see what it was gonna look like. Good news is I like it, bad news is the "Jeep" spacing was a little more than the "Joop" spacing so some of the letters are too far right, but it's not a huge deal. I'll stick the driver's side on one at a time.

Then, the sick and twisted side came out, and I added this one to the CJ as well....

Well the Jeep one looks great. Don't know what to tell you about the other one. Don't even know what that one is. I think you should go with the one the truckers have on their mud flaps in chrome. You know the one with the young thing leaning back on her elbow and other hand on the back of her head. :)

Looking great! Very impressed. Gonna be bad a**!

If someone back in the 80's were told that some 3D printed home made parts were gonna be put on this Jeep they would say "WTF? That's make believe Star Trek s**t boy!" LOL

I’ll shorten a long story..... my brother has a twisted sense of humor, and applied “kill marks” on his truck similar to military pilots. Has a couple snakes, a squirrel, and a couple jack rabbits. Well, a couple years ago a had a meth head intentionally step out in front of me while I was doing about 30 or so. It didn’t kill her, and I suppose if she hadn’t been stoned it would have. She was on her phone, looked me dead in the eye, and took two giant steps out - I centerpunched her about the time I hit the brakes. While I was talking to the dispatcher, she got up, picked her phone up, and continued her walk. Was an interesting ordeal to say the least. I have transferred my “kill mark” to subsequent vehicles ever since. Oh - I was driving a 78 Bronco at the time. Even the cops said she should have been dead. So I counted it and made the sticker.

I’ve got a picture somewhere around here of the cops talking to her. Charged her with drunk in public (but was meth) and obstructing traffic.

Depending on the filament it may be stronger than you think. Ours uses ABS filament and the parts are surprisingly strong. Not sure about the temperature tolerance, tho.

I remember now you telling that story before. Pretty amazing. Glad you reminded me, I had forgotten that.

We have a very large filament winder at work. Very strong stuff. Couple of 3D printers also. Not for personal use
