Got the base pieces for the drivers seat riser fabbed up today. Jeep came with a YJ drivers seat riser, and it was rickety and trashed, so I'm going to build a new riser - and may do the same in the passenger side. Got this far today.....

Yup - and I made em longer - the factory brackets didn't extend much past the bolts - this should reduce bending the tub when the hits the fan.

Well if your close I'll never turn away good help. I'm replacing the intake and doing an EFI and an MSD box so a lot of wiring will be cleaned up, and obviously no wire nuts. Also planning on removing all emissions stuff. I'm not trashing it but don't want it on there adding clutter.

Long distance wrenching ! I like it

Polished the crank journals.
Pulled all the valves out of the heads, degreased, pressure washed, and dried the heads in preparation for lapping the valves.
Pressure washed and degreased the engine bay in preparation for painting.

Yesterday I converted a manual steering yj to PS.
Swapped in a gear box, pitman arm, engine bracket, pump, and reservoir I previously grabbed from the pick n pull. Added 3 new hoses and serpentine belt. The smile on his face was priceless.

Also changed the engine oil and front pinon seal on a tj

Oh, wait, this is a CJ thread. :D

I then removed and dismantled my Rochester for cleaning.

Just replaced the rear brake shoes on my CJ last night. I hate drum brakes. After years of struggling I finally picked up the little hook tool for pulling on those darned springs. Made the job a lot easier. But still .......

Yup - and I made em longer - the factory brackets didn't extend much past the bolts - this should reduce bending the tub when the hits the fan.

Now you are going to have to put a 2"x 2" plate under the tub to hold it in "when the hits the fan." :D
