Finally got around to putting in my new vapor canister. I am convinced the old one was original. I noticed any immediate reduction in fuel smell with the engine running.

Ignore the wiring rat's nest, that's what I am doing until I get around to replacing the complete harness.

What year make and model did you use to get that canister?

I actually did a whole bunch of research online. They don't make CJ7 vapor canisters anymore although some oem ones are available from junkyards. I ended up getting the dimensions of my oem canister and calling Rock Auto and ordering one based off dimensions. The one I got is from Standard and only has three ports instead of four. I just eliminated the hose from the PVC valve to the canister.

I used the factory mounting holes, the supplied plates are 4 hole plates versus the factory 2 hole, also the factory mounting holes are offset for whatever reason so one bar is at the front of the plate the other is at the back of the plate, I do plan to frame tie these rear bars and use all 4 holes

I am thinking yours is in need of an upgrade in color to a nice camo color of some type. :) Those colors really look sharp on those older jeeps

Nope. Not gonna fake it. Mine was a civilian Jeep. It will stay it’s original color.

I think you are only faking it if you applied emblems and insignias or 4 stars like Patton or MacArthur. It's yours, that's fine with what you have.

Finally got around to putting on the cover on my rear differential. The new one has a drain plug so I won't have to pull the cover to change the oil.
