Finally got the hard top off - after a month and a half of whining. Whenever I had time it was raining, and when it was nice I was slammed. Finally got it done. So today if it’s still dry after work I’ll be tooling around topless

Finally got around to putting on the cover on my rear differential. The new one has a drain plug so I won't have to pull the cover to change the oil.

I need new ball joints too. I have not had the time to do them. And need to borrow the tools, so I was getting new tires for the front and was willing to pay the shop to do it. They could not remove the flange so now I have new tires that are going to wear poorly until I get the ball joints done. Grrrr.

I went to orielly auto and borrowed their c clamp as well as the 4x4 adapter for the ball joint press it took me about 4 hours or so to do it on both sides

I went to auto zone and borrow their tool, did the wife's Cherokee, a buddy helped me, what a real pain,

A friend bought a snap on press and it was so much better than the one from advance or auto zone.

Yea those are not very good. I actually had to use a 3/4 in drive socket I had to get it to work well enough. Like they say, takes the right tools to make it easier

Replaced my rear driveshaft u-joint. A surprisingly easy job. Maybe it was the supervision from my two little helpers.e1bef511cb721f5a56e8873bd5663517.webp

I know. What I don't get is why it failed so fast. I lubed the entire driveline in March when I did my ball joints.

Had to have been going south before March then, I am an industrial mechanic and it is neat to watch our conveyor shafts eat themselves in half, just takes that initial bit of movement and it will slowly grind itself into dust

Just drove it. Didn’t fix anything, didn’t lose anything, just enjoyed a topless ride before the storms hit
