Created a support for my bikini top. I've had a broom stick for 35 years that is whittled down on each end that goes between windshield and rollbar. Don't need anything going to the sides. Works great and keeps the rain water from ponding and sagging in the middle.

Yeah. I was gonna just do the one from the roll bar to the windshield, but though I might get 2 pools. Of course now I would get 4 little pools. But we will see.

Well, that sucks. I used the one in the ginormous box of stuff that came with mine. Have no idea where it came from. Let me know where you get the new one from.

Now I almost feel bad showing what I did today after that.......

Almost back to the house......

If you are asking me where I got a replacement, I went to autozone as they had an 8 inch wide one there. Advance only had an 11” and that would be too wide.

And way to enjoy a drive with the windshield down.

Got the contour fans wired up and running 🍻

Took my daughter for a little ride today.
She was just a little girl when I had my first Jeep, I think she was 5-6 years old at the time. Anywho she is all grown up now, married with a son who will be starting College this Fall.
She still remembers the old Jeep and the rides we went on and was thrilled to take a spin in the "new" Jeep.
I retraced my route where the clutch linkage came apart a couple of weeks ago. This time the old boy behaved and we had no problems. Seems the new motor and tranny mounts solved that problem. So far so good and I am regaining confidence in it again.

AWSOME, dude!!

Installed two of the four latches to keep my hard top down in the front.

Interesting..... I like the idea.

Ok - This isn’t something I did to or with the CJ.... More like what it did to me. We’ve had three straight days of clear, but very hot days. And I finally laid the windshield down for the first time since like 1990 (probly before Gert was even born...). Suffered a wee bit of overindulgence - between the wind and sun, I look like a freshly steamed lobster...... BEST SUNBURN I EVER GOT

Sent while taking a break from a few AutoCad dwgs....

Replaced all my hood hardware and finished treating and putting the 3rd coat of herculiner on the inside of the hood to stop the rust.

I was going to do the u-joints on the front driveshaft but decided to wait until I can take it over to my buddies house and use his shop-lift.

15 days until my crew loads up and readies for the Colorado Trail Ride 2019 trip. 16 days until we pull out of central CA. 17 days until we get to see beautiful Ouray, CO again.

3 jeeps, 2 motorhomes, 6 people, and a dog... 1000 Miles. :booze:

:chug:

My laundry list:

- Install high output alternator and rewire charging system for it
- Change all fluids and lube all bearings driveshafts, etc.
- pack front wheel bearings.
- Finish sealing vacuum leaks around the carb adapter to new 4 barrel on new 360 engine. Have to tig weld a bunch of areas on the adapter to make it right...
- Finish tuning new 360 engine
- Change the jets in the MC2100 carb for correct air fuel mixture.
- Install header heat wraps to lower Engine Compartment temps
- Fix new exhaust leak caused by removing muffler for new AFR 02 sensor install. The shop I had touch it last severely over-tightened collectors with thick gasket, and now mounting flanges are bent too far to use the thinner ones readily available...
- Install hood louvered vents for decreasing engine compartment heat.
- Get my speakers installed for some trail tunes ;)
- Get my CB Radio working so I can actually communicate with everyone this year on the trails.
- Shake down run of all 3 jeeps before the trip.

We've found broken axles, installed ARB locker in my Uncles CJ, installed new lifts and body armor (brother's "newer" round headlights jeep), new tires and rims (all 3), electric fan conversion (mine), built (twice... yeah...) a new 360 and installed it (mine), rewired a entire CJ5 (unlces) etc etc within the last few weeks... This is just my list getting to the wire now lol

Been chasing a lean mixture issue and overheating issue for a while now, and never once thought to change the radiator cap until after some major remedy attempts (dual contour fan being one...) :bang: :o I should know better... seems to have helped a lot, but still a bit hot for my taste on freeway. Still fighting the lean mixture, which is probably the cause of the additional heat. According to my AFR gauge, I'm hitting High 16's to low 17's on freeway at cruise, but again found some vac leaks @ carb adapter to fix, so that will change it some I'm sure...

Been busy, going to be busy, and looking forward to the payoff!

Damn dude! You got corporate sponsorships to help pay for all this? If so, could you send me over some free jeep swag?? ;D

lol - I should put my company name on the side... tax write off right?

Sounds like not much sleep or rest next couple of weeks. Going to need a vacation afterwards !

Done trying to seal the leak around that Mr Gasket adapter. Temporarily it wins. I'm throwing the stock 2 barrel intake off the AMC 304 on the new 360 tonight after some TLC / clean up.

Got too much to do to keep fiddling with it endlessly....

I did get the new alternator installed with minor stock bracket modifications though. That's a plus. Now I have a lot of extra wires to clean up from old charging circuit...

:chug:

JR, sent you a text. We had a similar problem with those adapters sealing. It's also in our build thread what we did.

Thanks to you and Mr Bass's phone call I'm going to give this another go tonight. We shall see if we're triumphant or duds! Either way that thing better be sealed up by tonight! lol

Thank you for the help OJL

So we made a custom adapter bracket yesterday from 1/2" +/- aluminum plate... Still didn't get the vac I wanted, and now my needle jumps a bit on the vac gauge.

Figured out the throttle shaft is leaking air in, not fuel out. Either way, I'm going to run it for the trip as is pretty much. Once last thing to try unless I get extra time. Need to do the other preventative maintenance, and it idles and runs just fine. Just trying to see the vac numbers I should from a freshly built engine...

Got one of my headers wrapped yesterday too. That side is much cooler now when working over it! about a 200 degree difference I believe.
