I used a T19 in my current rig, I went with the 6.32 low gear.
You might want to go with a higher 1st gear.
The T-176 is a lighter easier shifting Transmission , but still strong enough for a V8.
Advanced Adapters even makes a adapter for a muncie.

i have a 79 AMC 304 ,T-150 ,Dana 20 30 front,model 20 rear.
using all the parts from the 79 waggy.
360 th 400 and yes the quadra trac.
ive had it for 10 years now and stripped the hub pulling in my driveway
, broke a shaft in pismo. and broke the pinion yoke in the rear at ocotillo.
i am sooo done with the 20.
all this and i dont even wheel hard
