Rock Slider Help

Rock Slider Help
:)IO........Thanks for the ego boost old buddy.........seems as I get older I get more creative but just slower in the process..........Humm!

Should be able to pivot off some rocks and not hurt the body with these.
They are held on via self tapping bolts now.......so that If you want to take them off the option exists..........As I'm boxing the frame I will weld in some threaded bungs inside the frame and then just use a 3/8" bolts to hold them in place. They bolt to the side's and also the bottom.

Mine are built similar to yours except I used 2"x2" box tube. View attachment 15164

Tarry, those are very nice, IO is right take a bow.

I am always impressed with great fab work like that. I will have to gear up some day and give it a try. Maybe some day I could get something to look half decent.

I think I will have to go custom to get some for the 6, I really like the frame tie in. And those are very impressive. I found a local, Rocklin, guy that I thought would be a good resource. Had him make my Transmission cover for the swapped in SM420. Holly :dung:, I know I could have done a better job and I haven't welded since high school back in the 80's.

I do like IO's idea of the 1/2" spacer pipe and a bolt through the boxed frame. Damn you guys a good at this stuff.

Seriously though nice work.

Thanks Terry, nice added touch for the roll cage too. I wish I had your talent though. Would make my project a little easier. I should have done some "trade work" ;)

I'd be afraid of attaching sliders to a steel body, let alone a fiberglass one.

Lots of people do it and never have issues. Frame mounted ones just hang down too low - just more junk to get hung up on IMHO. But everyone's goals are different so to each their own.

Nice, they look like they could take a beating.
