That’s my unfinished parking brake install, I went with a disc on the back of my Transfer Case and the cable is not long enough to get to the caliper so one of today’s projects if I can get to it is to move it to the parking brake lever and use a rod to get to the caliper

Got tired of watching my passenger mirror move back and forth as I accelerate and decelerate....... so I ordered a set of aluminum bushings. My plastic ones are all cracked up on that side....... This oughta take care of that:

And on a side note - I was diggin around in a box of :dung: (you know - that box you take from house to house, intending to go they it one day) looking for an old pocket knife, and ran across something I forgot I had. These were made in the early 80’s, and I bought one and painted it up like the CJ I had in high school. Funny how close it looks to the newly reborn CJ that’s currently sitting in the driveway LOL. And it still runs - and it’s true 4 wheel drive..

Is that called a “Stomper 4x4”? Or something like that? I had a couple when I was much younger. One was a 70s Blazer.

That’s what it is - they made a couple varieties of Jeeps, one being a Scrambler IIRC....

Oh, hell no - it’s a CJ. But the headlights work

Replaced the trashed plastic mirror bushings on the passenger side with one of the Rugged Ridge aluminum bushings. Good news is that mirror is now rock solid. Bad news is the bushing is one piece, and cut halfway thru so it can snug up good. Problem is, both the mirror arm and cross bolt holes are too small. Bolt hole was easy - just drill out with a 3/8” bit. Mirror arm hole took a square bottom die grinder to enlarge enough. Time consuming, but works great now!!

Before die grinding:

The set I bought many years ago worked right out the package

Well, considering the fact that I have no idea whether or not my mirrors are OEM or not - that’s probably where my issues came from

Looks good.

I noticed the push plate are you currently using your 3a to plow the driveway?
If so a video of a working flatfender is pretty cool.

100 bonus points for a painted spare wheel
500 bonus points to pinstripe all 5. :chug:

Thanks. It had a plow, but I did not take it when we bought the 3a. I have nowhere to store it here in my garage.

And yes, I need to get that spare painted. I plan on getting 5 new tires soon. These are pretty dry rotted.

Are you going to try and find the old school type of tires ?

Installed a new fuel pump on my '84 and got it running again after sitting for a while because it wouldn't pass the smog test. I still need to pull the carb and put a rebuild kit in it and check the EGR to see if it's working right. Then I hope it will pass so I can start driving it again.

I got a lot of help by replacing all of those vacuum lines. I had an O2 sensor go bad and that did cause a problem. I wish I had seen what this guy wrote:The Three Major Players. I can now adapt a digitial voltmeter to test its operation. I always the change gas filler cap every few years as the smog man charges a fortune to replace it since it has to be tested on all my cars.
